Dear Brothers, Sisters, and Friends:

Our annual commemoration of the birthday of General Ulysses S. Grant

will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at the National Monument on 122nd

Street and Riverside Drive in Manhattan. The ceremony begins at 11:00 AM,

which also includes the initiation of new members of the Oliver Tilden Camp.

Sinking of the USS Monitor
EVENT DATE: SATURDAY, JANUARY 12, 2013
Cemetery Trolley: Commencing at 1:00 PM we will honor the
USS Monitor Crewmen at their grave sites. Followed by
Greenwood Chapel: Memorial Service, musical tribute,
USS Monitor displays, refreshments.
Bus from Greenpoint for those requiring transportation.
Call to let us know if you will attend and bus reservations.

Co. I, 83rd New York Vol. (9th NYSM), SVR and Tiden Camp announce funding for projects at Greenpoint Monitor Museum

Dear officers, members and friends of Tilden Camp:
I want to inform you that the Greenpoint Monitor Museum made the Secondary list of organizations that will receive funding through the Newtown Creek Environmental Benefit Projects. There is 7 million dollars available. The money the museum would receive would go to develop the museum's land on the Bushwick Inlet in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The land shares the building and launch site of the USS Monitor.

Change of Command for 2nd Military District

With the retirement of Major Gene Mortorff as commander of the 2nd Military District, which was effective on 1 Novemeber 2011, the Commanding General SVR has selected Captain Mark R.
