Our annual commemoration of the birthday of General Ulysses S. Grant

will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at the National Monument on 122nd

Street and Riverside Drive in Manhattan. The ceremony begins at 11:00 AM,

which also includes the initiation of new members of the Oliver Tilden Camp.

USS Monitor Crewmen at their grave sites. Followed by

The Brothers of the Brady Camp #63 in Petersburg, VA conducted a graveside marker dedication service for Pvt. Weber Guard "Webser Medal Ceremony February 25, 2012

WEBER MEDAL CEREMONY

 

One-hundred-fifty plus years after John Baptiste Weber enlisted in the 44th New York Volunteer Infantry; he was posthumously awarded the Civil War Campaign Medal by the U. S. Department of the Army. Cadre from Weber Guard formed the Honor Guard when Colonel Weber’s Civil War Campaign Medal was placed with his other artifacts in the Lackawanna Public Library. SVR units requested to attend a grave dedication at Riverview Cemetery, Wilmington Delaware May 27th 2012

The Appomattox Camp from Wilmington is tentatively planning to conduct a grave dedication ceremony at Riverview Cemetery in Wilmington, Delaware on Sunday afternoon the 27th of May.

This time has been selected due to a prior commitment of the 2nd Delaware, which will be participating in a Civil War memorial service at Mt. Salem Church in Wilmington at 10:00 am.

Co. I 83rd NY SVR participates in dedication of headstones in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Queens, NY

On Saturday November 12th Co. I 83rd NY Vols SVR participated in a a ceremony that dedicated four new govenment issued headstones.  These headstones honored 1st Lt John J. Irwin Co. Dear officers, members and friends of Tilden Camp:
I want to inform you that the Greenpoint Monitor Museum made the Secondary list of organizations that will receive funding through the Newtown Creek Environmental Benefit Projects. There is 7 million dollars available. The money the museum would receive would go to develop the museum's land on the Bushwick Inlet in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The land shares the building and launch site of the USS Monitor.
